Botulinum Toxin Injections

Botulinum toxin, commonly referred to as Botox® (the trade name of one of its commercially available forms), is a neurotoxin obtained from a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum that causes temporary muscle paralysis.

It is a safe and effective treatment for various neurological conditions, including:

  • Chronic migraine
  • Cervical dystonia/torticollis
  • Hemifacial spasm
  • Blepharospasm
  • Hyperhidrosis
  • Upper limb spasticity

Dr Tan administers the botulinum toxin treatment in his Camberwell rooms. Sometimes it is necessary for the injections to be given under EMG guidance.

If you wish to find out whether botulinum toxin treatment is appropriate for your condition, feel free to make an appointment to discuss it with Dr Tan.
